L&N SD40-2 3566 & SD40 1243 lead a northbound freight slowly past the scene of a derailment at Fairmount, Georgia in March 1978. Dad’s Bridge & Buildling Gang worked this wreck and rebuilt the bridge afterwards.

There was a minor derailment in the west end of the Great Falls, MT BNSF yard on January 14, 2008. I’m not sure when it happened, and I don’t know the cause, but I caught the crews trying to right the tipped over cars.

GPFX Covered Hopper 11293 looked like the most heavily damaged of the cars that derailed, but when I saw it at the shop the next day the damage didn’t look that bad. I’m not positive, but they might even be able to salvage both of these cars completely.
